Decker J, Future NBA Star?
Hi everyone!
Today I started my new playgroup (still “Hippity Hoppers”, but a new session that runs through June), and I had a really fun time! There were some kids I recognized from before, and I had fun watching them and trying to play “peek a boo” with them - but the best part of all was this basketball net that’s made for people my size! It’s a metal hoop with an attached net, and the frame stands on the ground and reaches up to about 5 inches above my head. There were these neat plastic balls that you could put through the net, but everytime I tried to do it myself, I would lift the ball up above my head, and the weight of it would then cause it to fall out of my hands and back behind me. So…my mom picked me up so I could make a slam dunk - that was so cool! After I put the ball through the net, my mom cheered me on, so I decided to grab the rim of the net with both hands and hang on tight! My mom said something about “showboating” and told me that “March Madness” is over, but I kept doing it over and over with every shot! I wonder if the professional players might find that move something fun to try? I think I look rad! (shoutout: Aunt Tully).
I may be destined for b-ball greatness, but I’m not too stuck on myself to remember that it’s important to help my mom and dad keep the house tidy. I spend a lot of time playing outside our garage with my scooter and wagon and balls and chalk, and when I am ready to go back inside I always let my mom know by bringing my stuff back in the garage and putting it back in the place it started! I will even pick up my chalk and put it all back in the bucket, and then try to put the bucket back up on dad’s toolbench! If I think I’ve parked the wagon or scooter incorrectly, I’ll just keep doing it until I think it looks right. Cleanliness is key, kiddies!
Well, there’s some Cheerios calling me, so I’m gonna go!
