Hi everyone!
So apparently there is a lot more to this holiday thing than I realized. Yesterday when I woke up from my afternoon nap, Mommy carried me downstairs and I was astonished to see that a tree had grown up right in our living room! It goes all the way from the floor to the ceiling, and it had lots of pretty twinkly lights and stuff hanging all over it. At the top, there are lots of shiny balls and wooden pieces, and at the bottom there are TWO Bob the Builders, a Cookie Monster, a Cat in the Hat and a Raggedy Andy! They’re ok to touch, but it’s not a good idea to pull too hard on them. Under the tree there’s this red blankie, and some fun stuffed toys for me to play with, like a Santa Claus and a frog that sings the song from the end of “Elmo’s World” (Daddy says it’s called “Jingle Bells”?).
So that was pretty amazing in itself. THEN I looked over and realized that all of the books are gone from the shelves, and now there are all these nifty houses that light up and have little people and horses near them. Pammy and Cappy and Katil all have some at their places too, so I guess we are all part of some club or something! I like to be held up so I can look at them closely - they are super small and I especially like the kids that are sledding.
Mommy’s been playing lots of music about Christmas and winter and playing in the snow, and sometimes she gets all weepy when she’s listening to it - maybe they’re just really bad musicians or something, but they sound good to me! And last year my aunties gave me a DVD called “Christmas Eve on Sesame Street”, which is hecka old (my mommy was 5 years old when it was made - way back in the 20th century!) but it’s very funny and has great songs and you get to see Ernie and Bert and Oscar the Grouch go ice skating - I have watched it a lot!
It’s been very cold, but we still bundled up and went to the playground today, which was totally empty and I got to play on the slide as much as I wanted! But mostly I wanted to gather a bundle of sticks and then line them up along the rail of the gazebo in the park.
Have a good week everyone!
OH! PS: I now can say “buh bye” really well, and do on my own (without prompting from anyone) when I wave at someone. I like to say “buh bye” a lot. I said it to every single stick that we passed on the way back to my stroller as we walked across the grass at the park. Mommy was very patient!
