Back To School
Friday, September 12th, 2008Hi all! So I’m wrapping up my first week back at school, and it’s been pretty awesome so far! There are some new kids in my class this year, and some friends returning from last year, too. I got a lot taller over the summer, so I am practicing my mad jungle gym climbing skillz - I can climb all the way up AND drop down now! We’re in new table groups this year, and I’m at the red group with 3 other boys, which is cool. Mom worked on the first day of school (she was the project parent), and Sutter hung out in the nursery. He got a little mad going to nursery at first, because he thinks he’s old enough to go to big kid school with me! Mom let him wear his little elephant backpack, and he got up and washed his hands at the sink just like me, and then when we passed the main classroom and went to the nursery he realized he WASN’T going to go to the playhouse with me, and I think he was kinda jealous. Mom and I told him next year he gets to go to big kid school, but I’m not sure he’ll be patient until then! Anyway, it’s gonna be a great year and I”m really excited to walk in the Walnut Festival Parade on Saturday night - we’re dressing up like pretend baseball players, and Mom says we might even see a guy named “King Walnut”. She says he looks like Senator McCain, but with a crown on his head. Moms are weird…
By the way - my dad is back from Chicago! I was really happy to see him this morning, and I showed him on my map puzzle where he had been this week. He brought me and my brother t-shirts (mine has a glow in the dark earth on it!), and magnets, and a toy fire truck and taxi. Dad is rad! (I learned that word from my mom).
